Hello, the seat on my 1956 case goes right down when we sit on it. It looks like the rubber under the seat is in bad shape. Hopefully the repair is not too costly. Wondering if anyone has an idea how to fix it. Thank you

Needs new rubber torsion springs. They are available. Yesterday tractor parts maybe, Saleai implement New York for sure. gobble

The rubbers have been out of stock for a while. Mine the metal facing separated from the ruber. I got some rubber cement and glued it back on re forcing it with screws.
It made it too stiff, but I don't think that fix will hold. I have a 1/2 inflated basket ball under my seat. Gives it air ride suspension. As John Saeli when he
expects to have them in stock.

About $108 plus shipping. Most places are out of them.To save your back for now, find an old piece of a foam sofa cushion, cut to size, and wedge it
under the seat. When you do get some new ones, take pictures before you disassemble. Also you will need new bronze bushings in the wear pivots. I
went to a hardware store and found some but had to cut-to-fit them. The set is out there for around $42. You may also need new 1/4" roll pins.

YT doesn't list them in their parts section. John Saeli 315-585-9826 shows them on his website, rubber springs left & right plus the bearings. Not sure if he has them in stock but worth a phone call.

Hate to disappoint, but those springs are still on "backorder". New date of arrival is "September". They have been on backorder since the Fall of 2018. Steiner is the sole importer of those springs and they had to find a new supplier. Anyone selling them, including ourselves, gets them from Steiner.

Go to Amazon and search for tractor seat. For $100 you can get something you should be able to make work. Keep your original for when the parts become available.

THere are some nice seats and some even have suspension, but none I could find have the right bolt spacing for the mounting plate. I would guess it could be drilled out to the right spacing.

Thank you all so much!! I guess I will just live with the seat right now! Would you happen to know though where to get the piece for an exhaust manifold to make my exhaust to go from the bottom to come out the top? We have a plate on the manifold we could remove and switch it around, but I need the flange piece to come off the manifold.

I have an extra upflow pipe that bolts to the forward hole on the manifold. It is NOT from a 311 I don't think as the exhaust port is quite large 2" If I remember right.
It fit my 351 with a slightly larger engine, but I think it is off an even bigger tractor. I believe STeiners has new ones.
