what engine oil to use?

Thanks for the replies to my question the other day, I really appreciate the help. That post introduced me to using the Hy-Tran fluid instead of regular hydraulic fluid. After that I'm now wondering what engine oil would ya'll recommend for a 1959 Case 511-B. Also, how do I get an oil filter for it? Anyone know what the oil capacity is on that tractor. Thanks again!

I?m assuming a gas engine. 10w-30 should be fine.
You local auto parts store should be able to provide the proper oil filter.

I don't want to step on flatpkr, but I'm concerned that 10W30 is a little thin for your 511B in warm weather. Excellent in Winter, but for Summer use 15W40 would be a better choice. We stock the correct filter. Your 164 hold 5qts. w/ filter.

I, like John, would use 15W/40 in an older engine for summer use, the other is a rather thin deal for a unit that old. That's all I use in my DC, SCs, Racine 400s, my 830CK, and my 1070. Larry
