Case W3 backhoe cylinder seals?

I have a Case W3 backhoe loader that I?m slowly bringing back to life. At the moment I don?t have a parts manual for it and I haven?t had any luck finding the backhoe on the Case parts lookup. I?m in need of a seal kit for the dipper cylinder on the backhoe. Can anyone point me in the direction of either an appropriate kit or where to find the number so I can try and find one either in Canada or that can be shipped here? Many thanks, Sam

I have a W-3 parts book in my stuff,, have to find it,, the seals can be bought from any good hyd shop if you have one close by also,, I will try to look through my pallet of parts binders for the book

Much appreciated. There are a few decent hydraulics places about an hour down the road. Just not traveling much due to the virus. Thanks, Sam

No model that I?ve been able to see but not sure where I should be looking. The tag on the loader indicates a 42. The hoe has the boom cylinder inside the boom and the barrels are mounted to the pivoting casting at the base of the boom and the rods are pinned on the stationary base on the back of the tractor. Hopefully that narrows it down. Thanks, Sam

All backhoes of that era had that boom cylinder in the boom design,, the serial tag was on the main boom LH side can you post me some shots of the backhoe unit,, swing cylinder areas will help but I need shots of the whole unit also,, the boom cylinder on yours is it held together with tie rods or does the gland screw in the rod end,, I think you should have a model 31 but have not dug through all of my pallets of parts book binders to find a W-3 parts,, backhoes are listed seperatly in parts books,, I also could use the serial # off the backhoe tag if its still there

Hello, sorry for the delay, I've been fighting technical difficulties getting pictures uploaded. I will attempt to attach them to this post but if it doesn't work they're in the help identify pictures on the left. Many thanks, Sam

I measured the rod and it?s a 2?. The barrel is somewhat over 4? OD. About 4 3/8?. Can get a good measurement with the tie rods.

I am getting some rain today I should have time in the morning to dig through my parts binders to be 100% sure,, I did get this info from my W-3n service manual so we know what your cylinder is for size where you know the rod size,, that helps for sure, also shows where the backhoe tag is,, not sure it will help though from some other info I found on the W-3.,, I know I have a parts book though,, I seen it in one of the backhoe parts book binders I have,, there are like 6 of them in two pallets of binders,, I need to get a set of shelves made for them,, any way sorry for the delays been trying to get all of my crops planted

No worries about the delay. Your crops are far more important than a leaking backhoe that I can wait for. Good luck with the weather.

Hello Sam, do you still have the W3? My father had a W3 and I believe you may have his old machine, I am in the Truro area would like to get in touch with you to see the old backhoe.
