Had this 300 for four years and have been restoring it off and on as time allows. When I bought it, I steered it as the the guy I bought it from sprayed
ether in the carb to keep it running as we loaded it on a trailer. Mr. Haney ( yes there is a Mr. Haney ) commented, at least it runs! Ordered hard to find
parts from John Saeli to finish fixing hydraulic control valve oil leaks. OK here's the question - it has an intake valve that is sticking enough when it's still
cold for it to pop and hic-up a little. I've taken the rocker arm and spring off and spun it with a cordless drill up and down while squirting it with a mixture
of transmission fluid and acetone. It helped a bunch but not a total fix. Amazingly, a compression check shows about 125 psi across all cylinders. Is
there any liquid fix to cure this problem?
