I have asked that same question about my 2470...."they" say no. I'm losing hydraulic oil and gaining engine oil. Not fuel in the oil as I have taken the cover off the pump and primed it till it won't pump anymore and no fuel anywhere past the plungers. Also put a new kit in the transfer pump, A pump guy told me to put a drop of oil from the dipstick on a white napkin...if it turns red around the drop it has fuel in the oil.

Send sample of eng oil in for analysis. Ran into this prob once w/results showing high potassium level indicating hyd/trans oil. Pulled eng and found rear main seal bad.

You shouldn't be using straight Hyd. oil anywhere in the 4690. Hopefully you mean Transmission-Hydraulic Oil such as Hy-Tran. Yes, if the rear crank seal is bad, Tranny-Hyd oil will get into the crankcase as the flywheel housing is "wet".
