Hello all, been a while
Need some expert help on 1070 RPS 34
Pressures seem low in all, except C1 in PS2 ???
PS1 C1 = 160 C2 = 150
PS2 C1 = 190 C3 = 180
PS3 C2 = 145 C3 = 145
PSR C2 = 145 C4 = 155
Inching pedal depressed C4 = 140
Lube pressure = 70 in all, drops to zero with pedal depressed
Looks to me like a leak in the C2 circuit, but C4 is low when pedal is depressed
Is it possible to check for leaks without splitting ??
Or is it possible that it can be in the control valve
I have adjusted all the linkage
Tractor does not want to move if you go any higher than 1st gear
in the manual gear selector
Any help would be appreciated
By the way mEL, HOW YA DOIN

I see you did a good job of doing a pressure check on the RPS 34, since you did that what I would suggest is making a isolation plug. If you have the service manual it shows how to make one, it is easy to do. Then you remove the plug for the C-2 pilot spool and install the one you made. Then retest the RPS 34 and if all the other pressures are higher you will know there is a leak in the C-2 circuit. That plug just keeps the pilot spool in the closed position so no oil with be lost in that circuit while testing and will show zero in the test. I think Mel had explained to some one how to check for a leaking powershift by using the 3-pt hitch already, don't know if this is that tractor, Rod.

Hope you don't mind it if I made a suggestion Mel, did not know if you would be able to see this question, Rod.

Rod, Dan and I have a working relationship that goes back many years, I have done road service to his farm, looks like he has a good handle on the pressure test, looks like probable bolt failure situation.

Dan , do u have my number yet, If not send me a text to [email protected] and we will get together via phone.

If this is one of the tractors I am familiar with it is a pull the lid model but Dan is a veteran at that. Sorry I missed the post when it was first put up.

Okay guys
below is the pressure readings I got with the isolation plug in C2

PS1 C1 = 195 C2 = 000
PS2 C1 = 190 C3 = 175
PS3 C2 = 000 C3 = 180
PSR C2 = 000 C4 = 190
Inching pedal depressed C4 = 145
Lube pressure = 70 in all, drops to zero with pedal depressed

Why is C4 190 in reverse
but is only 145 with pedal depressed ????
Mel this tractor has the shuttle valve kit installed
would that have anything to do with problem.
I am not sure what that kit did ? Or if there
is anything in there to go bad

Mel, I will email you later with my number
have a couple of honey-do projects I have to get to !!
