401,451,504 Case engines

It appears from Tractor Data that these engines all have the same 5" stroke and different bore sizes. Are the blocks the same , just different sleeves or I making this too simple. Also are the crankshafts the same? Can these engines be interchanged between say a 1070 and a 2294. Also it seems the engines in the 730,830,870 were the same but minus 2 cylinders. I don't own any of these but just curious.

Blocks are different, some cranks interchange. They have large and small journal engines. Except for the wet clutch 6 speed 930 all block will bolt to the front bolster and clutch housing from the 55-400 to the 504 in the 94 series. There are differences in some and some adaptations are needed especially between the 30 series and newer ones. But a 1070/2290 swap is mostly bolt in except for intake and exhaust. But I'm not the greatest expert here.

I should add that the main difference in the blocks is the bore. There is enough meat in the block to bore them up if you want. I put 504 sleeves in a 930 block for pulling.
