Stanadyne Injection Pump

Hi Folks, My question to all of you guys is,
Is it possible to replace the Throttle shaft seals on a Stanadyne DBGFCC Pump on the tractor.? It's a '76 Case 580b.
Or, is it possible to remove the pump as is, without setting up at TDC, as long as I mark the mount position, and don't move the engine, pump shaft, or anything in the pump besides the throttle shaft seals?
Thanks for you help. Kai

If the throttle seals are leaking, it's most likely time for a complete tear down and repair. Weight retainer is probably failing inside which will CAUSE throttle leaks, just changing throttle seals won't fix what's wrong. Timing is not set at TDC, but you could remove/replace pump with pump timing marks under side cover aligned first.
Most have a decal on the valve cover with engine timing spec.

Thank you, I'll check tomorrow and see if the decal is there.
Thanks again, that's a big help.
