Case Eagle hitch plow

I have a 4 bottom Case plow that is set up for an eagle hitch, I don?t have the model number for it, but I was wondering if they can be converted to work as a regular 2 point plow. I don?t have my case 730 anymore so we tried using it on our fords but I was told it doesn?t go in the ground. So if anyone knows how to make it work please let me know.

As long as you switched the pins so you could hook the Ford arms and top link to the plow, in the original position, it should work, unless the draft system on the Ford is holding it out of the ground. Fords had top link sensing which Case EH tractors did not, so you may have to make some major adjustments to the top link and the lift rods on the Ford's lift arms to let the arms low enough.
It is difficult to give you advise when you can't tell us the plow model or the Ford tractor model. I doubt your problem is with the plow, and likely lack of knowledge on how to opperate and adjust your Ford tractor.

Trust me I know my way around fords, I have 7 lol. I tried posting a picture of the plow because it?s a weird one, it has a hydraulically controlled rear wheel like every other regular 2 point moldboard plow, but front of the plow is set up like a 3 point. Unfortunately I was really young the last time they used that plow on the case and I never actually got to see it hooked up.

Hi
When I had a 430 case with an Eagle Hitch it was missing the top link
I tried to use one from an other tractor it ended up being to long we could not shorten it up enough, then after measuring it all up the the Eagle Hitch arms
Were about 4 1/2 inches shorter then the other tractor and the only way to fix the problem was to find a shorter turn buckle with eyes on both ends or cut a few inches out of regular to link.that was my experance I also had to be carefully when I hooked something on it with a PTO had to shorten some
Thanks Chris

That would be a model ST plow. The top link assembly on them floated some to allow the plow to follow the ground front to back when up out of the ground.. The tractor hitch arms carried the front of the plow, BUT, the depth that the plow went into the ground was adjusted like a 3pt plow by adjusting the top link. The floating top link bottomed out so the plows tail wheel carried and leveraged the plow front to back when at plowing depth, and when raised the top link could float and rear wheel carry back of the plow.
As someone else here said, try a shorter top link. The anchor point for top link, on EH tractors was low compared to a Ford, so geometry is different. Try eliminating the top link and see if plow goes into the ground. You may be able to plow without the top link and control depth with the tractor's draft system, but questionable. The plow may want to nose over and not maintain even depth from front to rear. Try it, nothing to loose.---------Loren

I need to correct my last reply I was trying to hook my 430 Case with Eagle
Hitch to a Case MRB with a cat. 1 hitch.
