Pretty early for us, but it is dryer than it ever got last year and the weather was good so I planted some of my corn. Had about 1/3 of my acres fall plowed which is by far the best, but rain just wouldn't let me get it done. So started with plowing the dryer corn stalks down on Friday.
Saturday my grandson Randell who is 11 wanted to learn to drive, so he came over and drove the 830 on the disc. This is his first solo run.
Today we were able to work together in the same field with the 1030 on the cultivator and the 830 discing again.
Since the 400 is down for more repairs I put the 830 on the planter this year.
The fall plowed stuff worked up excellent, the spring plowed is a bit lumpy but not too bad. The rest will have to be plowed too but still had some wet spots in it so I'll wait to see if it dries. Planting in April is not the norm for us here. But supposed to get a little rain in Tuesday so that will help with the lumpy ground. If it's not too much rain I'll likely plant the rest of the corn next weekend.
