While trying to restore my 1959 Case 420b backhoe, I have uncovered wiring that makes my head spin. In one length, I have red changing to blue to black as it has been spliced and then dead ended prior to reaching the dashboard. I need to see what goes where. any help would be greatly appreciated.

About the best resource, if someone doesn't post a schematic or, you purchase a complete service manual for it, is the parts manual for it. You did not say gas or diesel but both are in the parts book. Here is a link to one on the Case Construction Equipment parts site.

Thanks Jim! I did fail to mention it was a gasser. I'm looking for something that lists wire colors, was that listed in the 50's? I have several manuals but none list that.

The actual Case OEM service manual for the tractor would have been the one most likely to have it noted on the wiring diagrams. If you have the Case service manual and it doesn't have the colors noted on a schematic or in the text; it is likely they weren't.

They do not have a color coded diagram on these,, the system is so simple it is not needed,, a 420Bis the very same as a 300B/400B by the way,, I own both
