I have a 530 Case Diesel tractor with std transmission and no 3 point hitch.I am looking at a 530 gas Caseomatic transmission with blown engine and 3 point hitch. My question is can I swap my motor and trans into the gas tractor with ease. The parts tractor is 3.5hrs away to compare. Thanks Gary

so I take it you just want to use the back half of the com. because it has 3pth? then bolt up your engine and std. trans. I have an older com. tractor but have never tried that.

Gary, the simple answer is "yes" it can be done. What you essentially are taking about is placing your diesel engine in the "parts" tractor. You will need to re-use your hood because the 188ci diesel is a little over an inch longer than the gas 159ci gas block. That will also necessitate some other linkage changes such as the lower steering rod, and you will need to find an oil pan off a 188 diesel connected to a COM torque tube (from a 530 or 630). If have a solid or adjustable wide front there you will need to find parts to make it work with the diesel/COM combination. The aft attachment is different on the COM and dry clutch models and the long diesel engine will also create some issues for the frame that goes from the axle to rear attach point. There will be other smaller items as well....

Bottom line is your life would be much easier finding a dry clutch donor rear end to mate up with you chassis the torque/transmission break. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
