Case 430 Lift Arms Hydraulic Leak

I have not removed the rockshaft or it's arms but everything else is removed. The cover won't even come loose.

If all the bolts are removed and it won?t budge the gasket has it stuck down. Work a screw driver or cold chisel around the joint, or tap with a hammer, it will come loose.
Make sure the 3 point arms are disconnected from the rock shaft. The cover is all one person wants to lift as it?s heavy, some kind of lifting devise can come in handy if you don?t want to strain yourself.

Try taking a sharp putty knife (one that will hold up to hammering) and start at the corners to make an opening that a screw driver or low angle chisel can get a start in. It's best if you have some sort of lift/hoist to put a slight pull on it and then to lift off as the cover weighs around 80 lbs but feels like more with the position your lifting at.

You need to be a bit careful prying the cover loose. There are 2 dowels that center the housing, and if you get too rambunctious you can break the rockshaft housing.-----Loren

I agree with Loren, the locator pins are the most likely problem. Do your prying close to the pins, definitely not on the corners of the cover.

It worked well to take a really small sharp (almost flat and thin) chisel and lift the cover from the corners to loosen it from the locating pins. Then it came off no problem.
Thanks to all for your contributions!
