tractor data says weight of 530ck -loader and hoe is about 9000 pounds. the 580 is 500 pounds heavier, wandering where the differences come in. I thought they were almost identical. I am looking at one for sale.
 
tractor data is marginal at best with its supposed facts,, I see them have far more wrong than right,, as for a 530CK and a 580 being "about the same",, 580 has a totally different backhoe in design as well as strength and power,, that alone would at at least 500 lbs,, then add in the power shuttle option,, the much needed 1000 lbs counter weight much heavier built backhoe mounts and you will see it adds up very fast,, a 530CK is a great machine,, the 580CK upper the ante a LOT over a 530CK,, loaders are similar but even there you have a heavier built loader bucket on the 580CK,,
 
so that explains a lot of the weight difference. except for the shuttle clutch etc the basic tractors seem a lot the same . I have a dead 580 with only the loader
 
the chassis/tractor is a 530 base unit on both,, he Case-O-Matic drive was offered in 530CK,, it only came with a mechanical shuttle,, of course a std shift version was also available, the power shuttle option was only on the 580CK and later the 580B, there are loader changes between the 530 and 580,, but not huge ones,, the 580 came with a joy stick loader control where the 530 has a two lever system, big changes are in the back hoe on the 580 and again when the 580B came out we sold thousands of them new, I have a 580CK I use on my farm,, also have a burned 530CK,, I also have MOD Hitch and a backhoe for my 580

thanks for the info so nice to know. I may go look at a 530 ck with blown engine. so if it worked out I may be able to use the 580 for parts or visa versa.
