Any suggestions on how to clean the rust out of my 400 Diesel Fuel Tank, its pretty rusty and when using it plugs the line so have to keep blowing it out, Just want to clean it up to eliminate that issue.
Any and all suggestions welcome

If no baffle, remove tank and strap it to the rear tire of another tractor that is blocked up off the ground and run the tractor in low gear and reverse, with a 4 foot 5/16 chain and a gallon of muratic acid. Plug all the ports and reposition a few times to have chain contact all surfaces. DO OUTSIDE, as the fumes are nasty. Once clean, power wash with hot soapy water(I leave the plugs in except the fill) until the tank is full and spilling over. Then drain and dry overnight in a warm area and then rinse out with a gallon of diesel(to coat the inside) until it is put back into service. Works for me.

Strapping to a tractor wheel works the easiest and quickest but if that's not possible, I've sat the tank on a pair of saw horses and rocked and rolled (no
pun intended) the tank off and on with the muratic acid and 10 ft of chain for about an hour then rinsed. I then use a tank coat (red one works best) to
seal the tank walls.I also take a piece of thin wall brass pipe (the kind that Hobby Lobby sells) that fits tightly inside the fuel port. The pipe is drilled with
1/8" holes up the 3"length of it, pinching the top to a 1/8" gap.
