Started on my manure spreader yesterday. Needs some rust repair but mechanically it's in good shape. I'll repair all the rust and repaint it.

I could use a beater bar for the lower, larger beater. One is made of angle and the rest are channel. The angle one is shot. I don't know which is correct, but I would like to find a channel one. I can make one if none are around.

I could use any leads as to where decals might be had. I'm sure the lettering was originally painted and I might try to get stencils
Hope to get it all apart today and start on the repair of the panels.

I was going to mention that the tires didn't hold up and ask about warranty. But I may need further warranties later so was saving it. Lol. Looking forward to having it working. Next will be the hay rake.

What was surprising was both tubes were holding air yet. One blew out later, but the other is still holding air. Think I'll keep that tube. Lol

Any woodworking needed? I re-worked an I-H model 230 to use about 12 years ago. It needed new wooden sides & floor. I used composite deck material. The only problem was the decking was a full inch material & the top metal rail slid over the top of the side that was only 3/4" originally. Turned out OK, because the new composite side was about 3 1/2 inches shorter than the old side. I just cut a 1X8 to fit & made both top boards from one wooden 1X8. No problem from rotting that high up & the composite hasn't shown any sign of degeneration yet. Mechanical parts were like new & still work great.

No rot composite decking an option, or you going for original look? We opted for durability & didn't care about "correct-ness".

I'll just use regular wood. Lasted 60+ years so far and I won't be around that long anyway. I will paint it good before installing it.

Jon, I think I have a parts manual for you. I also may have some parts that I saved when I got the parts spreader I will look on the spreader and let you know about angle iron. Jerry from Ohio

I wouldn't count on any warranty on a used spreader. Always heard even original manufacturer wouldn't stand behind their work..
