Looking for part for 470

I'm trying to find a source for part A29988. Its a throttle return spring for a 470. The parts diagram shows 2 springs on the linkage. I have one, missing the other. Also, the diagram I have is not real clear as to where each spring connects. Does anyone have a clear diagram or photo. Thanks.

You may try a Case dealer. Both p/n's I wrote in on pic 1 are for the same spring, there may be later p/n change but dealer out here said N/A. Following is the way I do it.

Pics are for 300, 470 takes the same springs and setup although the foot throttle and throttle rod are not identical. Before you do any spring work clean up & oil the rod and bracket on the side of the engine block, that's where you will find most movement problems.

For the throttle rod return spring go to a hardware and buy a spring about 5/16" diameter and 6" or longer. I bought and assortment of springs and found one that worked w/o modification otherwise hook a spring up like the 1st pic. Slide the eye of the upper cotter pin down the wire of the spring until you get the desired throttle rod return movement and then cut off the excess. You just want enough spring tension to return the rod with the engine running. You may have to compensate with the gov control springs so check your gov is operating correctly after installing this spring.

The hand throttle return spring shown lower left of 1st pic connects to the steering bracket and on the other end to the hand throttle linkage on the tractor left side. pic 2. You can use most of any spring here as the hand throttle is not mechanically connected to the throttle rod.

Zach how about check a dealer availability for those springs and post any new nrs. You have a lot better old tractor dealer support back there then out here in the woods.

Did your PTO drive shaft seal job and the PTO output shaft seal stand up ok?

Thanks for the info, and especially the photo. My tractor is missing one, and the other is put on incorrectly. This should help a lot. Thanks again.
