Case DO Brake pedal return spring

Is there a return spring on these? The one we are working on has a spring that loops through a bolt hole and then to the arm of the pedal. Though functional, it doesn't look original. Anyone have pictures or diagrams of how this should be? Would the brakes being rebuilt to original specs negate the need for a return spring like this?

Thanks!

Here are details of the older D series brakes from my parts manual. If you need pics of the later D series brakes let me know. Hope this helps.

What year is your DO? The late models have a different design than the one Ron posted. That is what my DO has. Sorry for the delay in getting a picture of it posted. Don

Here are pics of the later D series brake pedals and mounting hardware. I can't find a pic of the footrest plates showing any attachments. The springs and their rear mountings are under the foot plates. I can't answer you base question about how the rear of the spring attaches. Maybe someone else can help using these pics.
