Quick question on Case 1170!!!

Hoping someone can help me out here. The tractor is 30mi from me and I want to pickup some new batteries for it before I go. I know the tractor had group 31 batteries in it. However, I can get group 65 batteries for a song! Like half the price. the issue is the batteries are nearly an inch wider than the 31.

I am not worried about the crank amps too much as the tractor will always start with one good battery so two of about anything should work fine. Or to be more precise, one of the old ones was rated at 800cca and would start. I want to install a pair of group 65s rated at 650cca each.

My tractor has a cab. Could someone possibly confirm if the 65s are likely to fit? Really if that slide out tray will accept them, it will probably work and the 65s are shorter than 31s so the width issue is it.
 
The group 30/31 are an awfully close fit width wise in the battery box. I don't think there is an extra inch of space to accommodate the 65.
 
I run the 2090, and 2394 on 1, 65. The 65 will not fit the 70 series box. There is another battery that is bigger than the 65
that does fit. It is about $125 if I remember right, and it has a 7 year warranty where the group 30, and 31 have a 3 year. Last
one in my 970 lasted 11 years. I can get the number out of the file tomorrow.

The job is done guys. Ended up with the smaller batteries and as said, the width of G31 batteries is 6-7/8" and the box is about 7". The 65's would not have worked.

I somewhat regret what I did as the T posts are not centered like a G31 so I got in a long fight to get the cable length to work, but I got it. I hope I don't have to remove them because it was not fun.
