Brake issue

I have a 1975 case 870. I believe it has a brake issue, it seems to travel forward no problem, but in the snow, it does not seem to want to back up. It's as if one of the brakes are hanging up. One tire will spin and nothing on the other one (it does not have diff lock) if you hit the brake for the side that's spinning it will hesitantly start backing up, but not very well. For the most part it is stuck and if you can't drive forward, your pretty much SOL. Please help!!!

First thing is to check the brake actuating arms to make sure they are not seized up. Next would be to back off the adjusters all
the way and try it. Last would be to pull the brake covers and try it. if that does not find your problem you have more serious
internal issues.

Thanks, I'll look into trying that! It'll be next weekend for sure before I get a chance to look, but thanks very much for the info. I appreciate it!
