970 1070 rear end

I have a 970 with a busted rear end housing powershift transmission found a complete 1070 rear end not sure if it s powershift or 8 speed yet are housing the same to swap onto my 970
 
Thanks for the information I thought it would and looked like they have the same part numbers in book but wanted a second opinion from more knowledgeable people
 
If the PTO brake shoe broke off and went under the bull gear and cracked the bottom
of the housing, you can push the pieces back in place and braze it back together. I
have done that to a half dozen 9's and 10's. ---------------------------Loren
 
That s what happened have had two people try weld it up still leaks oil several small cracks in housing keep showing up that s why I ve decided to change it out
 
1070 might have an extra clutch plate in the power shift packs, and PTO clutch. Torque limiter might have heavier springs. I do
not have a 1070 parts book to check it out. I do know the 1070 has a heavier clutch than the 970 in the 8 speeds.
