1270 Case hydraulic issue

I changed my hydraulic filters and in reading posts on this Site someone mentioned that there is a screen and I am trying to figure out where it is.

The screen is located in the lower transmission housing, directly under the gears on the pinion shaft. It is very difficult to clean completely unless the the tractor is
split at the trans housing. You can drain the hydraulic oil and remove shift linkage cover on the LH side and try to clean some debris there or remove PTO housing and go
under the diff. assy. with a long tool. Either way it is not easy and can only be cleaned completely by splitting the tractor. I should add you only need to worry about
cleaning the screen if the filter gauge on the dash remains low after the filters have been changed and the charge pump is OK. Rod

Thank youMy problem With ny hydraulic becomeing for the loader n steering. The fluid by the fillters was very dirty would u change it all? It is very cold here should i start it warm it up than drain it? If there is water in the fluid it may be ice if i do not warm it up? Also how can I check the pump and do u know any place on line i could get one for a better price again thank u!

I would change the hyd oil but I realize that can be difficult in cold temps. If the problem remains after oil and filters have been changed it would be best to have the
pump tested if possible. The problem could be a weak relief and the test would confirm that if it is the trouble. At the present time there are no new pumps available as
far as I know. I need one for a 1370 and had to buy a used one. Rod.
