Restoration Quality Case 400 Rims

Hello. I'm an IH guy normally, but a buddy just inherited a family heirloom Case 400 that he wants to restore. The first thing it needs he says are rims and tires. Can anyone point me in the direction of good used original, or as-close-to-original-as-possible rims? I don't even know the part number or have a parts manual available to look up a part number, but if you guys could get me started it would be appreciated.

I tried looking up pictures online and I see them with all kinds of rims. Were there multiple size and type rears available from the factory?

Thanks

The Ag versions of both the Racine 400 and the Rock Island 400B used standard dual bevel rims. It would help if we knew which 400 you are working on. You do need to know the number of drive nubs and stile on the rims though. There are a couple of different ones out there. Any double bevel rim will clamp in place, but on some rims the drive clamps won't line up with all the drive nubs on the rims. Most tire dealers and tractor parts suppliers can order new rims for you.-------------------------Loren

Could you clarify which 400 you may be speaking of the 400 Recine round nose, or the 400 B. There are reproduction rooms available through a company I know as Ag parts limited in Humboldt Iowa 800-445-6698.. My email is open. CM

I'm in the same boat as you. Had a case 400 diesel and 800 gas (both row crops) and liked them both but afraid I only have time for IH. Think the 800 had pretty good looks with grill, square fenders and and smaller hole in cast wheels with lines and wheel weights . Might get decent looks off a case 400 with square fenders and 800 wheels and wf other wise they got a stick for nf.
