Electric Power Steering.

Has anyone retro-fitted an electric power steering unit on a Case tractor? I was told a unit from a Saturn Vue would work for power steering on a tractor such as a Case 300.
 
I am getting ready to put electric steering on a 630 diesel triple range sand also a 1965 Chevy bel air. I
bought 2 complete units out of late Chevy Malibu?s. $50 per unit. Had to get a couple items off eBay.
Maybe they will let me post some pictures as I work on it.

That would be great. I'd like to hear your experiences with using electric steering on a tractor.
 
Some of the ? ton pickups come
with electric power steering
now. I know the Chevys that do
warn against adding a snow plow.
There may be limitations for a
tractor with a loader for such a
system. If you have perfect
mechanical parts, I think it's
fine to add electric assist. If
you have mechanical binding you
best fix that before it damages
your new steering system.

At a Saturn dealership was my first job
off the farm in 03.

And the first time I had seen electric
power steering on Ion and Vue. And now the
company does not even exist. And even my
friends 07 Hyundai has electric power
steering.

We did figure out that if we pushed a car
into the shop, with engine off but key on,
above a certain speed the power steering
would kick in. Very strange feeling trying
to arm strong steer a non running car and
suddenly the steering comes alive and you
almost fall over.

But yes I am sure there are many other
uses for the systems. I am not sure the
amp draw but wires weren't very big, and
the wires were not yellow so it was normal
voltage
