Hey guys, I have a request not about Case but one of my favorite subjects, mostly it will apply to ex dealers . I need some replacement parts for an OTC Y94-A the later model is the 4221 flow meter and those two items carry the same part numbers between the two models, the 4221 is the digital version of the same flow meter, for those familiar they had a tubular metal square frame with rounded corners which I need and also I need the square instrument panel cover. Maybe someone on here has info I could use, my hope is find a dead one that could be obtained reasonably. Here is hoping you all had a great Christmas and wishing all a happy and prosperous New Year.

Mel

A good time to call also you are way east. Try this Link also. After I got the pdf I did a internet search for the parts numbers the Ohio place was the only hit. I also noted in the operating instructions it has the various Mfg. in house desinations, of which I see a couple case and probably the bobcat. https://www.otctools.com/literature-manuals?combine=4221

Must have written it with that disappearing ink. Wanted to thank you for the picture. I drug mine off the shelf and out of the box looking for the female receptacle. Nope mine is a newer cheaper 4221/revision C Has a digital readout and no fancy stuff like yours. Did come up with a link to the railing http://www.ohiohydraulic.com/store/product203375.html A bit spendy. Thanks Tom

Dragged my meter off the shelf to look at the receptacle. This is a newer cheaper? version anyway it is different only uses 2 C cells no external connection. Digital Lcd. Model 4221 Revision C. So I went Otc site looking and got part # for Rail (50960BK2) and Cover (59405). A bit spendy but this place does show prices as though they may be available.http://www.ohiohydraulic.com/cgi-bin/sc/productsearch.cgi?storeid=*1ecb0c148c0a884471a02467799ea5a8ca&search_field=59405

Thanks for the effort of posting the picture.

Clint, standard charger red/black clips, regular wire , black but softer than extension cord wire, probably 18 ft long appx, not heavy as far as wire gauge, the circuitry is solid state, standard wall wort plug but I will measure it up when I get near my digital calipers.

Mel, would you post a shot of that plug on here also. I bought one of those flow meters sans the cover several years ago and although probably have needed it never built all the hoses to go with it. Thanks Tom

No, tomorrow I am going to see if someone can make tight enough bends in conduit to make one, I have a friend who does custom exhaust tubing work and I am going to see if it can be done, Bending that short radius without wrinkling will be the challenge. I still need to send u pics of the aux power cord, If you have a radio store near you the plug you need is very standard and wire and clips are easy, I will try to get that sent.
Thank you for your efforts.. I got new gauges and installed them and got a new meter movement and will transfer the GPM face into the new meter movement, I will send pics soon .

Clint, I have the manuals for the unit and could send you pictures of the power cord, it is simply red and black battery charger clips and a plug to fit the front panel jack with a 6-8 ft cord.

mEL,The 1840 was a great unit, personally,I am dedicated to the bobcat line, but credit always goes where it's due.regardless.always been a case tractor guy,was born and raised on them, grandpa and dad had 30 series, and the new 70 series was replacing them,so those were my favorite.was too young to even remember allot of the 30.but back to the hyraulics, half an hour and an entire system is diagnosed ,as you said, without guess work,BUT,if you don't know what your seeing,it's easy to condenm major components and be very wrong.and I am still looking for parts to help you if I can, clint

Clint, I worked for the same Case dealer for 52 years and my specialty was probably the 530 - 580 - 590 series backhoes clear up to the 580Ns + all the skid steers, I myself own a 1840, In my opinion one of the best skidsteers ever made regardless of the brand. On backhoes we did a T test on every new machine checking every circuit and recording it on a flow sheet and putting it in a notebook for future reference so we could compare flows at a later date, as you well know these flow testers will detect a leak as small as .5 gal. Our latest hoes were approaching 50 GPM. That added up to a lot of time turning the knob. A you well know the flow meter will help you put your finger on the problem within minutes without parts changing and guessing. On the ag tractors I usually isolate the pump and check it first as some problems can mimic a pump so it's better to look at that first.

Getting this meter up and running is more a labor of love than necessity because of the amount of time I spent with it!

mEL,The part numbers listed for your flowmeter have a list of an M E L prefix, that is a bobcat predix,if you have a dealership around your area, they may have one in their piles of used equipment.juat a thought if you hadn't already tried that

I have and use the power cord that came with it that clamp to the + battery terminal or the + wire at the starter and a ground point. If you do not have one it would not be hard to make up.

You are right about SPX and it appears that they are an arm of Bosch, I have been in touch with SPX and the tech help line took me back to OTC, and I have found out that the meter that followed the Y94-A which is what I have, the 4221 was discontinued in 2006 and seems they no longer support either one with parts. They have the lid but close to $130, but the wraparound is made of unobtainium.

Brother works for CaseIH and told me that they send theirs in to OTC to get rebuilt. I also picked one up(the old white and blue box) but it works fine. OTC goes by SPX tools now if I remember right.

mEl is this the meter that needs parts? Haven't found any parts yet in a quick search for OTC Y94-A. Is this a Case p/n for the meter CAS-10280?
