Is there a serial decode for the 580SE?

I recently took on a project 580SE and have been reading through the forums. I see people talking about different options depending on serial. How are they decoding what options the backhoes have by serial? Also, year.

There is/was a tag on your machine that has/had a model nr and a serial nr. Serial nrs are chronologically progressive.

Go to the link, model/serial nr tag and other identifying info is listed under PICTORIAL INDEX. Look through the parts listed under the groups , you will see that many items are listed as before/after certain serial nrs.
