I see that your new SC has an upright delco distributor that has replaced the original Case mag that probably came on it from the factory. This is a
common replacement for a Case mag, as there have been no replacement parts made for Case mags for about 40 years. This distributor bolts right up to
the flange that was designed for the Case mags. (Its been a long time, but the firing order may be reversed with the right-angled distributor. I don't
remember for sure, but it might rotate CCW instead of CW or visa versa.) This battery ignited spark system is quite common and parts for it are easy
to find. If your friendly C-IH dealer has a good parts department, the parts guys probably have all "overhaul" parts for it in stock. It was used on
many letter series farmalls in the day and many are still being used. Just ask for right-angled delco parts, as they are slightly diffierent than the
"flat" delcos that IH branded as their own. Allis Chalmers also used them. I have a DC & an SC with that distributor on them. One was donated by an
Allis that was languishing in a salvage yard & the other from an H Farmall that was reposing near the Allis. The flat IH distributors will also work,
but the right-angled ones give you more room if your SC has anoil filter. jal-SD
