1030 Battery Box help

Been 5 or 6 years restoring our 1030 General Purpose, narrow fenders which are now painted. Been rebuilding the battery boxes and I assumed the bottom of the box bolted to the fenders, but there are no bolt holes in the fenders where they would bolt. What am I missing?

John, I will have to look at mine. But my mind is telling me that mine are bolted to the platform only. It's been 4 years since I changed batterys.

Take a look at the GP fenders. No bolt holes in the lower front portion where the box would line up. https://partstore.caseih.com/us/parts-search.html#epc::mr57667ar701476

That would make sense, but there are no holes in these fenders, below where they fasten to the platform and weirder yet, the parts book doesn't show holes where they would mount to the fenders. Parts book shows all the other holes.

Have a chance to look yet? It's strange that the bottom of the box has the 3 bolt holes, but no holes in the fender. There is a brace coming over, but that hardly seems enough.

John the Specials I have use the same lower holes in the fenders that the fender brace uses hope this helps sorry it took so long been loading hay out from daylight till dark here past couple days

John,Good thing I am not a betting person.I walked over and looked at the 1030.The battery boxs on mine are bolted in three spots to the fender. My is a 1969 model ck with the narrow fenders.Wish I could send a picture but have not figured that out yet on my phone. The picture that tom posted should be right. It's odd you have no bolt holes in the fender.
