Watching TCM tonight. A big Case steamer with a shiny "Old Abe" shows up early in the movie, "MCCabe and Mrs. Miller". I suppose it is not the first time someone has mentioned it on this site. I would guess that steamer is still around somewhere as it was a running machine in the movie.

It shows up again, later in the movie. I think Abe was blushing by then.

Another old west movie had a case steamer in it,cant remember the name but it came in camp pulling a couple wagons 1 had various "LADYS OF THE NIGHT" in it

Debbie Reynolds & James Stewart in "How The West Was Won" had a CASE Steamer & I think a Threshing Machine riding a R.R. flat car. but didn't end well.

You are correct, John. As I recall, the engine was a portable and it broke free from the flatcar during a shootout.
