I need some help from the vets. I have a case 1394 that will crank and run for about 10 seconds and then die. After it dies it will not crank again for several hours. After several hours it will crank right up and run great. I have never seen this issue before. The tractor isn t the prettiest thing in the world, but the mechanical side has been taken care of.

For this problem I have,

Changed fuel filters, (last filters had 175 hours on them)

Bled the fuel system several times

Mechanical fuel pump was changed 18 months ago.

Looked over the fuel lines

Thank you

Next time you get it running, loosen the injection pump cover bleed screw. With engine running there MUST be fuel come out that fitting, with some pressure . If not, the supply pump is not doing it's job well enough to keep air out of the system. Engine will try to run with a bad supply pump as it has a vane pump, but the system is designed to need a feed pump. Also if NAPA/WIX filters are used, MAKE SURE the filter top outer groove next to the lip is open. Common mistake is to place an O ring in that filter feed groove, either restricting or shutting off fuel flow completely.
