CASE 2290/970 Questions

I have a 2290 sn# 9916355. Getting ready to paint it and the front rims are silver and the back rims are power red. All the literature and op manual show the back rims to be silver. Can someone enlighten me as to what color they should be? The tractor has not been repainted to the best of my knowledge. The 970 has a narrow front on it. The pedestal came off of an 830 (threaded caps). I used to run 6.50x16 tires on it. What are the biggest tires i can put on it? Would the 10.00x16 tires off a wide front work? If not can someone tell me what kind of a rim offset i would need? Thanks in advance!

As far as front tires go, 6 bolt hubs will fit on those spindles just fine so you can out on larger tires if you like.

With stock rims 6.00X16 or 7.5L X 15 is as big as you can go. Bigger in any way or size will hit on bottom side when turning. I have 9.5LX15 on a 770 but I had to use 70 series wide front hubs and rims with a pretty good offset to make it work, took a lot of trial and error.
