Case/David Brown 990 selectamatic

Hello, After re-assembleind ramshaft and control valve, the knob that selects , depth, height and TCS won't switch out of TCU. Any helpful ideas? Thanks ,Steve

OK, I used a screw driver to put pressure on the bottom of the height control push rod and it popped upwards back into place, all is working now. I hope. Had had it all out and cleaned with a solvent, I guess after it laid dry for a day or two it was just stuck also, I bumped it a little trying to get it back into the case. That is a challenge doing it by hand and, a great way to grow roids. Steve.

You do have to pull the white quadrant control lever all the way back compressing the
spring, and then shift from TCU, to Draft, to position control. -------Loren

Sir, Thank you for the reply. Yes I pulled the lever all the way to the rear far enough to defeat the spring that comes into play near the end of the levers full motion. I was surprised when that did not release the selector knob. However I pulled the lever all the way to the end of its travel and while holding it there , I used a screw driver to put just a little pressure upward on the height push rod. When I applied just a bit of pressure on the bottom of the height rod , it jumped upwards. I don't know, a burr or a bit of foreign matter maybe. In any case the selector knob will shift through all selections, as it should. Thans, Steve
