Case 990/David brown

Hello, I need some advice concerning the removal of the oil suction pipe. Looking at a diagram of the hydraulic parts/pipes etc. , the suction pipe , on the filter/housing end , is fastened to the body of the tractor with a 5/16 UNC X 1 1/8 SETSCREW. The fastener looks more like a bolt to me as it does have a hex head. My question is how do/or have you gained access to the nut that is on the top of the pipe? I can't get my pointer finger through the tight space in order to stop it from rotating. To that end I havent found any way to get a wrench, pliers etc to the nut. Also if I do somehow manage to get the bolt out , how do you hold the nut and lock washer in place when you re - assemble ? I know this sounds all too simple to even be inquired about but, it is a pain in the Butt. Thanks for any tricks and suggestions.

Thanks for that bit of info Mr. Martin, I wondered if that might be the way they had arranged that assembly. I actually hoped that could be the case. Regards, Steve
