I was plowing with my CC with a DC engine installed by me 20yrs ago, and a piston crashed and went
through the water jacket. Im told ill likely need a new block. Can anybody tell me what I might be
looking at to buy one.

I have a few DC parts units,, but a long ways from you being in NE Wyoming,, not interested in shipping one but might be talked into pulling one for pickup,, 500.00 for a block without a head it would be up to you to pull out the stuck pistons ect,, may be possible to get a ride for it closer to you no promises on that though

I have a complete engine in the shed I purchased to put into my DC about 8 years ago.

Same as Case Nutty said probably 500.00 price range for it but I am way up in Saskatchewan, bound to be something sitting in somebody's boneyard closer to you.

I believe the combine engines of the same era will fit as well.

I had a plate made that had a collar attached to it that fit inside the hole with the plate fitting around the outside of it and the stud that holds the starter down held that plate down.

Three years ago, I needed one, here in Mich.(cracked head & block). Local metal recycler fixed me up for $200. I had to take his 'scrap' tractor, switch engines and return the one for scrap. It smokes a little, but doing good ! I felt very fortunate.
