530 CK forklift

New to the case world and have a couple questions for the experts. I picked up a 530 forklift a while back to use around the place and need to address a few issues on it this winter. 1st it?s a 4cyl gas engine what size engine would it be and what is available for parts for an overhaul? Is it a sleeved engine or not?
2nd are parts readily available for the brakes? Have a leak coming from one of the brake housings that I?ll be addressing.
3rd there?s a lever on the right side below the gas tank shifting it changes ground speed is this torque shift on the go type deal or a hi/low range?
I?m totally new to cases of that era so any info would be great. I?d also like to find some original parts and repair manuals if anyone has any they?d sell.

engine is a G159 wet sleeve, brake parts are no problem,, I will assume you have a dry clutch unit and not a Case-O-Matic, but both types have dual range,, sounds like you are talking about a hi/lo range lever, manuals are available,, thi site may sell them, on the web at times and your local CASE CE(Not cih though) dealer can order them also,, I am guessing its the one posted on my CASE fb page,, they are great units Congrats

Thanks for the replies and links to the parts books.
Yes it?s a dry clutch not case o Matic. I don?t do Facebook so I doubt that?s mine on there. I don?t know how I ever got along without the 530, it?s lifting capacity is impressive. Thanks again.

Sorry for the confusion then,, the one posted on fb was the mans son posting it,, I assumed and was wrong,, ops,, I have been hunting a CASE forklift in my price range since we sold out the Case dealership in 1976

the shifter on right side looking towards the engine from the seat is a range shift lever towards you it is direct drive pushed forward it is either low or high depends on the option. could be a two or three speed trany. I use local case ih ag dealer but use a parts guide and have been fine getting parts that way. get an operators manual for it, if this site does not have you can get reprints. as has been mentioned John is a great source. I recently picked up the backhoe version of the same model, but in diesel, no regrets so far. if your model number ends in tc you have the torque converter option. I also have an eye out for the forklift model. parts should not be a problem.

No problem. My 530 might be for sale in the future, I?ve got a 586c bought from a neighbor that has a free lift mast and side shift but needs major work and might not be worth fixing.

NW Indiana probably be to costly on trucking. The 586 has had a rough life brakes went out then was ?stopped? with the reverser until it finally quit moving all together and was pushed off into the corner of the shed.

I?m confident in my ability to fix it despite my lack of experience with case equipment. For the right Moline I could make a trip to Wyoming. My email should be open if you think you might be interested in it.
