Case/David Brown 990 selectamatic

Hello, I am trying to get the lift arms on the 990 working. I know this subject has been worn out in the past. I have searched and read all of the posts that I can find but, I need more help. Most posts reference a small cover plate located on the right side of the tractor, this plate being fastened by two bolts. As I understand , there are two valves located beneath the cover, one being a ( by-pass ) and the other is a ( hold ). I don't know which one is on the left or right, as viewing from the back of the tractor. Also I read that on some models there was also a dump valve located in that compartment. I don't know if that means it is a third valve or if it could occupy one of the places that is used for the bypass or hold valve. I would appreciate any information and/ or explanation of the valves. When viewing the valves from the back of the tractor, and looking down on the top of them, there is a "D" stamped in the valve body where the slotted retainer cap on the right is located. Thanks for any help. Steve

Do you have the manuals for the tractor? Even the A+I manual has a lot of good info and will help. I can't recall which valve is which, but but the one with the 3/8 hole in the top is the one that usually needs fixing.
