Found a pretty nice late model 660 Combine. It has the square logo so Im thinking maybe a 1970? It has a hydraulic auger swing which I didnt know was offered. Looks like it will run with a little tinkering. Hasn't cut in years but has been started every so often to move in and out of the shed to get to other eqt. Always shedded. Bob

The radiator pre-cleaner just has some cottonwood fuzz on it. Not plugged but I thought it was at first as well.

I was thinking that the belt variable speed that could be adjusted from the operator station was on the last ones, and that before that they were chain drive. Is that correct or am I thinking wrong on that?

Probably sell it, but I would actually like to get it cleaned up and cut a little wheat with it next summer, but I usually won't allow myself to play when harvest is in full swing and wheat needs to be in the bin. We'll see how it runs first. Thanks for the info - Bob

Variable speed cylinder speed came to the 800 and 1000 starting in 1958 and on them it was std with chain drive optional, other machines came std with chain but had it optional the 660 always had the variable speed cylinder as a option

I see a back stripe on the bin , it has no eagle on the rear straw hood and fabricated elevators so its a 1969, yes hyd unloading auger was a option last two years 69 and 70, the variable speed cylinder was always a option, as was hyd reel lift, I also see the optional screened elevator doors, it also has the seldom seen narrow rear axle and larger than std drive tires, I see it was left with the variable on high so I will bet the cylinder is stuck in that position, the 600/660 was the smallest of that series but sold in the highest numbers, that one has the 201 Case gas engine, the other choice was the 188 dsl cnt

It also has the adjustable cylinder speed from the cab. It's the belt cylinder drive.
