Iowa State Fair old photo

My wife got a bunch of photos from a friend on Facebook. They were from 1955 but this one GOT my attention. I?m guessing the 400s were BRAND new because of the year and the SC is probably a foot clutch. I see clam shell fenders but can?t see eagle hitch or brakes.

Any how I thought you guys would like it because the 2019 Fair started today.

Sure looks like I'd better clean up and "polish" my 400's tires before I head out with her again........... Thanks for posting. Larry

I remember all the fanfare at the Case dealer in Dempster, SD when the 400s came out. Dempster never had over about 60 people for a population. I was just a little kid.

For anyone that gives a hoot, Starters are flambeau red and distributor cap and coil are black. Headlights are black as well. Diesel pump flambeau also. It seems to come up now and then, particularly with the starters. I like black starters even though it is the WRONG color. gobble

The gas 400 in the background looks to have much shorter tin work and front end than the 400 diesel in the foreground.
I would suspect it's a wheatland but it doesn't have the big fenders so it must be a standard tractor ???
I'm guessing it has a solid front axle up front and a 3 point hitch on the rear. Any thoughts?

this was posted a few times on my fb page, the SC int he pic if you look close you can see the chain holding the top link, also you can see the bent shifter all foot clutch/EH units had, they were showing the new 400 off big time but I am sure sold a number of the discontinued DC/SC/VA series models as they would have been a fair amount cheaper than a new 400

I see them now. Thanks for pointing those out for the foot clutch SC. Have a couple foot clutch DCs but no SCs. But I just assumed foot clutch anyway due to 400s being there.
