530 PTO clutch Adjustment

I am having trouble adjusting the independant PTO thru the pipe plug hole. I cant really understand how which buttons to push , pull or wiggle ...I have made some adjustment improvement and am not sure what i did to acheive that ,, However after engaging the PTO several times the snap over kept getting weaker

I am only familiar with the early 530 with the pto that has the same over center clutch as the 400B shown.

The next to last pic is an hand clutch used in front of the transmission to control ground travel on many Case tractors. The over center mechanism and adjustment is the same configuration as your pto clutch. Note the #1 locking pin appears shorter than the #2 pin, that is because the #1 pin is in a slot on the adjustment plate and the #2 pin is riding on the adjustment plate between two slots. The locking pins are spring loaded so when you pull out #1 pin and turn the adjustment plate about 10 degs the #2 pin drops in a slot locking the adjustment plate and the #1 pin is now between two slots. To continue adjustment you need to pull #2 pin out of the slot, turn the adjustment plate until #1 pin now drops into a slot and #2 pin is again riding between 2 slots, continue etc until desired over center pull.

Thanx Joe , I thought I knew all that You showed Me , i originally searched for a hole on the leftrear , did not find one , So i posted here on hopes of getting a better understanding. I was working thru the hole at 12 O clock ,,i will double check ,

depends on what style you have below is correct for a 530 with COM, but incorrect for a later independent pto, they just have a button you depress not the pull put pin type,

Thanks Tom, my 530 experience is limited to early models probably no later than '64. That's why we need input from more experienced guys like you.

Joe

Thanks for trying Tom , I think Youb understand what i have. There is no other plug on the rear left side. With all due respect ,. For the life of me , I dont understand what that drawing actually shows .EXCEPT CONFUSION.. Why in the world does it identify the obvious and fail to give any credible insight or proper direction to help adjust my PTO clutch is beyond Me
