I used the tractor to bushog last week everything was good except fenders flopped a little. Made some brackets replaced some bolts now they are tight. Also added a tool box. Today tightend wheel went to mow some more, go to engage the pto and the lever flops like nothings attached to it. It's tight on the shaft that goes into axle, moves in and out a bit but just like nothings attached on the inside. Anyone ever had this happen?

Directly opposite the shaft and lever, there is a cover with 3 cap screws holding it onto the RH side of tranny. Remove the cover and have a look-see inside. Problem should be obvious at that point. Sounds like the over-center clutch linkage came apart while brushhoging.-----------Loren

Got into the pto today all the links to the clutch are broken off part a57917 What could have caused that?

That is the most common failure of that over center clutch, the links get loose and wobble back and forth and break, just me, but when I do one of those I get hardened Allen headed bolts to use for pins long enough to go through both sides of the links, thread them till you can get nut to tighten then use steel lock nuts to take all the play out of the links but they still move free, probably the purists on here will object but I like things to stay together. Over 50 years I have done a few and I'd just as soon they stay together. Setting them up like that takes all the slop and flex out of that linkage system.
