48 model D carburetor question

My 48 DVD starts and runs good I put a kid in the carburetor and adjusted it which seems to be fine but when I shut it off I have gas running out the carburetor sometimes. Do you think my float level is off. Thanks

Common problem with tractor carbs and that is why one shuts the gas off when parked. It can also happen if the kit had a rubber tipped needle for the float and it takes time to get a set in the tip or as I do I put a set in the tip by tapping on it before I install the float

u did the carb so did u check the float level??? with top half of carb sitting upside down the float should be sitting level on the needle. float level don't have much to do with gas leaking. its the needle and seat not seating. plus have you watched how long this gas is leaking?and how much is leaking? give some details.
