A disturbance in the kingdom

Started getting the combine
ready for Oats this weekend.
Finally got it to run good
with the new carb, that's a
big relief. Got it out of the
shed yesterday, been in there
a long time.

Ran it a little, then found
this guy.

Man I really don't get along
with rodents! Lol. Got the
corn head off and all that
stuff changed over. That is
not real handy as far as
changing heads goes.

But then I found this, not good.

Luckily my salvage yard has both the top and bottom sieves. But I'll need to do some work at the front as the part of the shoe that holds the lower sieve is missing. The parts book is not real clear on what goes there. So looks like I have some work to do before oats combining.

I was looking at a song in the songbook our music group uses. There's a line in the tune "Mockin' Bird Hill" that I think is appropriate for your place!

When it's late in the evening, I climb up the hill
And survey all my kingdom while everything's still
Only me and the sky and an ol' whippoorwill
Singing songs in the twilight on MOCKIN' BIRD HILL

Grab a guitar and sing away to ease the disturbance!

I admire your commitment in getting your Case equipment into running condition. You need a kitty cat. The kitten in the pic is now 2 years old and I wouldn?t sell her for a $1000.

On a side note I used to have a mouse and rat problem. Now I have a kitty problem:)

Buy bags off moth ballss, put in coffee cans, set in various places in combine, even cab. They dont like that smell.check now n then, smell grows weak replaace moth balls.far better than aa snake un there digesting mice n rats

I moved into a new town house several years back. Had a momcat I got from the pound. All of my neighbors had problems with mice except me. I did find a lot of mice heads around though.

We used to have 2 of them one for corn the other for beans. They disappeared decades ago. I would have to look but I think there is some seives and other parts around yet. I even have some new rasp bars but they might have been for the 1660 we had for a little while. Steve

Jon, if Steve has parts for you I would be glad to bring them when we come to see you. They would need to fit in my mini van, and if Steve and I can make connections.
