730 governor sticking

730 CK gas....governor problems/governor sticks open for short time. Where to start/what to check ?????

I was just into the governor on a 411. The governor arm had been broken and I was swapping in a different front cover with arm. A previous owner/operator had been very diligent about greasing the zerk on the governor arm. So much so there was an over abundance of old hard grease down around the governor mechanisms. I cleaned it all up but thought that maybe that could have caused some problems someday. So just sharing what I have seen, may or may not be applicable to your problem. gobble
