Eagle hitch piston

So I have this VAC with the Eagle Hitch. It would lift the rear blade for a while then it would act like it ran out of oil. I looked on line at the parts. It shows that the first design used a plate with two small bolts holding a leather cup to the top of the piston. Those are NLA and were replaced by a piston with an oring groove. I took it apart and it has the old style setup. Was thinking of having a groove cut into piston. Has anyone ran into this? Thanks

No longer available!! Makes me want to throw in the towel!!

I have a VAC but have never been into the Eagle Hitch piston. Is there any way a leather cup from a water well hand pump cylinder could be made to work. I found a store that still had those leather cups at one time when I was thinking of restoring our old hand pump, never got roundtuit yet. gobble

1951 piston changed from leather cup p/n V-22900 cross-ref A30798 to two O-rings p/n V-20353 cross-ref A30757 & later 468335R1. Either type piston will fit the cylinder bore so you need to eyeball to be sure. O-rings are common size, measure and buy many places or buy O-ring splicing kit and make up your own. I think leather cups are still out there, John was 1st choice as a top notch, honest seller. Will do a search later.

Like I said, "Makes ,me want to throw in the towel"!! We go to the work of stocking parts that CASE has obsoleted, having them ready to ship, economically, then I see this thread.

Sorry John, I interpreted your response as no longer having the part and didn't check the link you posted. As I stated in my initial response you would be the first choice seller.

In any event your initial response and link has been deleted on modern view forum. It usually gets deleted on classic view as well.

Classic view, it's still there. Yes, we keep them in stock. Wonder why my original post does not show up on "Modern View"?

It doesn't show up because YT automatically deletes any response when it contains your website link and some other competing sellers.

My responses that contain a link to your website have also been deleted in the past although I always check that YT does not list a part for sale before posting another site that may have it available.

If you had only posted that you have the cup san adding the website, your response wouldn't have been deleted and I would not have spent the time trying to locate an alternate source for the cup.

Thanks for all the response! I am not sure when the change was made. I took the piston and the cup to a local hydraulic shop in Smithfield Utah. I had the measurements of the oring from the parts book with me. I thought I would just get the orings and have the piston machined for the orings. When I showed the piston and cup to the guy he just went to a shelf brought me a new cup the same size. I will have to drill the two holes for the little bolts.
