Rode in the Pioneer Machinery club summer ride yesterday from Marcus Ia, to Pierson Ia and back--53 miles. We had 30 tractors. There were 2 Case, 4 MM, 3 FOrds, 1 Ferguson, 1 Oliver, and the rest was the usual mix of JD and IH. It was a ride blessed by luck. Brother blew a tire on his 8n the night before the ride. As we headed south out of Marcus there was a huge storm building to our north. My brother thought of turning everybody around and heading home. Instead we continued on with only a few drops of rain. Meanwhile, back in Marcus they were being hit with a windstorm that tore up a lot of trees. At our lunch spot, sevice was really slow, which was also good luck as if we had started back we would have been in another rainstorm. As it ended up by the time we were done eating the rain had passed.
Then, when we got back and I got ready to back the 351 in the shed the water pump siezed up completely. Lucky again as I was able to park it before overheating and not stranded during the ride. John Saeli I'll be talkin at you.
