Educate me on Case sickle mower

My brother bought a VAC and mower yesterday. They are both good. We are wondering about the model #. Is it the same vintage as the 48 VAC?
Were they good mowers? It is a sweet little unit

if that is the serial no. thats a 1951 not a 1948 nice looking unit

That is the mower serial number. This one is the tractor

Tractor is a 48. I'd say mower is too. My brother found one at a dealer in southern Arkansas know about 1984. It was new old stock that had never been sold. Worked good for that vintage. Cut a lot of hay with it on a vai.

Found on Craigslist. It was in se Minnesota. If it was close by I would have bought it but I wasn't up for a 5 hour one way drive, he was. I'm glad he went and got it.

I have one just like it. It's a pretty good mower. Never did lift as high as I would like. Tractor will mow in 3rd. gear if your knife is sharp. Mine came with a 7 ft. cutter bar. Dad didn't like it and switched to a 6 ft. bar.
