Case 311 round nose wire diagram does anyone have one? Trying to wire a 12 volt generator to it , any help greatly appreciated.

The 311b's were 12v and that diagram should work for yours, and no I could not tell how mine was wired because it was messed up but working. A generator does not keep a full charge when the tractor makes short runs like the do now a days. I have switched all mine to alternators.

Your present 6v gas gauge will not work on 12v although you can series in a resistor to drop the 12v input to 6v. In my experience resistors are prone to failure in this application.

Pic3&4 is 12v gas gauge options that are a drop in replacement for your 6v gauge, don't pay any attention to the gas or temp faceplate as the movement, internal wiring, electrical values are identical. These Stewart Warner gauges are obsolete but can usually be found on eBay or goggle search. Split the bezel and take the gauge movement out of the cup, the movement is identical to the 6v movement in your 311 except wound for 12v. Put the faceplate off your 6v gauge movement on the 12v gauge movement. You will need a 12v gas level sender, Stewart Warner 385B gas sender will match the gauge and your gas tank or you can buy any generic 240 - 33 nominal ohm gas sender that is left hand swing and is adjustable for a 10 - 12" tank.
