Trying to find out the year my engine was made case VAC. no tag on dash. Thanks.

I was told all the VAC build card history was thrown out during the merger. gobble

Very early VA series engines had big holes in the
sides of the block,i think continental built
them,had expansion plugs,then second build had a
1 piece intake and exhaust manifold,most cracked
were replaced with newer 2 piece,seems like 49 or
50 was last of 1 piece manifolds,the big
expansion plug blocks ,first year or 2 of
production.i could be wrong on dates but that
should give you an idea,some others might get
closer on dates
