case 2290 wont move anymore

hope someone can steer me in the right place. makin bales yesterday pushed in the clutch kicked bale and that was it. no more forward or backward movement.

1)you dont hear the surge when you depress clutch.
2)it does actually move a bit when you put it in gear and release the clutch.
3)hydraulics, steering and PTO still work fine.
4)changed trani filters last year and oil does not look dirty
5)pulled one of the springs on the side power valve body cause that was advice i got from another source
6)NO idiot lights on the dash are on. all looks good there
7)gonna go get a 300 psi gauge and screw it into the side of the body at the pressure regulator switch and see if she has the 210 psi buddy says it needs

There is a good possibility that the torque limiter on the flywheel puked out. Drop the front drain plug and see if there are pieces of spring and metal there. You may need to stick a magnet in the hole to find them.----Loren

i put a gauge into the port where the pressure sensor is and it only reads about 150 to 170 psi pressure came up kinda slow. i grabbed a tractor manual download from the net. looks like i need to build or buy a set of gauges to perform any kind of actual tests. im gonna grab a magnet and pull the plug and see if i can find anything.but im starting to loose hope. the fact the tractor moves a tiny bit had me thinking its an oil flow thing and not an actual mechanical part that has self destructed. and since i lost both my brothers to cancer last year i cant ask them anything about the tractor. i know it got split some years back but i dont know what for i posted here last year trying to figure out the issue with the 1370 the boys had and i still aint figured the problem there im running out of running tractors and need to spend serious cash by the look of things

sounds torque limiter-ish to me, maybe how many hours? what use? loader, row crop, lots of forward/reverse clutch? maybe try a 4440!! No don't want to start a war.

Ya lots of clutch work. Round baler work so every bale ya gotta stop. Had a case mechanic look at it today. He says torque deal as well. Gotta split the beast for 5 grand ☹️

Curious why you say 4440 ? Can they handle more clutch work ? I personally believe all these guys make good tractors and have their strong and weak points I saw a JD 4430 for sale and was thinkin maybe that is the way to go ? Next question. Do ya have images or any help with doin the split ? I worked with a mechanic back in 92 that said he split all kinds of big tractors in some real nasty locations I got a building with dirt and gravel. No cement. And I don?t think 5000 bucks to let someone else replace a couple hundred bucks worth o parts ☹️ I?m gonna be doin this myself What and how can I do it ? I?m gonna need some advice. Or you fine folks need to talk me outta this madness

I was afraid of that. Hard to say, case was a good machine, but for doing baler work, I lean towards John deere, on account that case doesn't like you backing up with pto running, the case power shifts are pretty hardy but at pto rpm with a baler behind you, shifting that 3 speed is advised against, a john deere 4430 is also not a great choice for you I don't think, but a 4440 wouldbe a good fit I believe as far as reliability but probably close to twice the cost of the the 2290.
