I used snapon allen head socket to unscrew the plugs inside torque tube.front 1 was already stripped as godzilla must tightened it.i took a punch and tried closing the internal hex flats. Got my 3/8" hammer impact,3 or 4 hammer blows it gives up again .any suggestions as to how to get front inner plug out?

You're not going to get a welder in that hole. Pull the starter, see what the ring gear looks like. You probably need a starter, or at least a gear anyway. If the ring gear is good, forget that torque converter drain plug. If you need a ring gear then deal with the plug while the tractor's split.

Don't heat or weld on that plug, any oil pooled in there and oil coating everything will lite up and may cause severe damage. You could put enough water in there to dissipate the heat and likelihood of the fumes lighting in off. A shot from a CO2 fire extinguisher would be good insurance to inert the fumes.

Anyway I am with Kevin, pull the starter check the ring gear. The ring gear probably has been replaced, I can't imagine that much damage to the starter gear w/o destroying the ring gear.

Its been layin down there long time, starter cranks smooth engages nice, you look at starter and can tell its been replaced not real long time ago . The teeth make about a third of a circle around a 5/8" socket, about right for a starter drive.
I just want the plug out. Some people should never tighten bolts. A close friend (his soul is at rest) would set valves and use a long wrench and yank like its a 1 inch bolt.ive set valves he set nd had to use dies to correct threads .
That plug is 1 example.
I got 3 gallons oil out want the rest out
